Howdy. My name is Trish or Trisha (emphasis on the A) if you are mad at me for some reason. If you are here, you are probably like me, carefully navigating the world of gluten free living. I do not have celiac disease but do have a vicious gluten sensitivity that has altered how I live for over a decade. In my blog, I will share stories of the good, the bad and the ugly, so read up. You may learn something, get a good laugh or simply realize that it isn’t just you. So this is me…
I am 30 years old and have had “stomach issues” (as I tried to nicely phrase it) since I was 16. After 12 years of “issues”, a friend suggested William Davis’s book Wheat Belly to me and I haven’t looked back since. No doctor of mine had ever suggested to try removing wheat from my diet (although they did try to remove dairy and a variety of other things over the years) to see what would happen, but the book flipped a switch and I decided I had nothing to lose from trying it for a few weeks. I’ve been on a gluten free diet since April 2012 and am thrilled with the changes it has made in my health. I wonder how many others are dealing with unnecessary issues simply because they are unaware, which is why I’ve created GlutenFreeTees. They put it out there and get the conversation rolling. The sooner people are aware that their problems may be caused by gluten the better.
